Sophia is the Goddess of Wisdom. According to Gnostic myth, Sophia birthed Yahweh, the chaotic god of the material world, often referred to as the Demiurge by the Gnostics. While Yahweh spent time destroying his own creations with floods, fire, and brimstone, Sophia lay back pained by the actions of her son. Gnostics believe Jesus was the return of Sophia and kindness in the world.
